Processing Notes: The photo came to the Archives from Beverly Underwood of Princeton, West Virginia. Included was a handwritten blurb of Thomas Gordon's life. The blurb will be in the Historical Note.

Historical Note: Thomas "Smoke" Gordon, the son of Thomas H. and Mary Mitchell Gordon, was born on June 10, 1900 at Wytheville, VA. Thomas married Mary Carter and they had no children. Thomas and Mary lived on the Joe Hatcher farm on Low Gap Road, at Princeton in Mercer County, West Virginia. Thomas worked on the Virginian Railroad, as a carpenter, and on Joe Hatcher's apple orchard.
Thomas Gordon died on February 21, 1995 in Princeton, WV, and he is buried beside his wife, Mary, at Roselawn Memorial Garden Cemetery on the Bluefield and Princeton Road, at Princeton, WV.
Scope and Content: The collection includes one photograph of Thomas in a uniform.
