Sen. Humphrey Speaks at Oceana

Making a short stop in Oceana Monday in a tour of southern West Virginia counties was Sen. Hubert H. Humphrey, Democratic candidate for president. He arrived shortly before noon with his campaign caravan. Shown are (left to right) Mrs. Garnet G. Herndon, president of the Oceana District Democratic Woman's Club, Mrs. Humphrey, Senator Humphrey, and Tom Smith of Oceana, president of the Wyoming County Court. Marshall G. West of Oceana is Humphrey's West Virginia co-campaign manager. The caravan was met at the Wyoming-Logan County line and accompanied to Oceana by Sheriff Bert Short and other county officials. Humphrey spoke briefly from the bridge at the Oceana-Kopperston Road intersection.
