Steven Narrick, a native of Taylor County and candidate for Congress from the first District, urged the party to close ranks without hard feelings after the May 10 primary and to work for a Democratic victory at the general election in November, in the major address at a public dinner sponsored by the Taylor County Democratic Woman's Club at Andrews Church on Wednesday night.

Narrick, who was born in Wendel, is unopposed on the Democratic ticket for Congressman. He attacked the record of the present Republican administration on the state and national level and urged party workers to make every effort to turn out voters on May 10 and in November.

Lt. Gov. Karl Rolvaag of Minnesota, who appeared on behalf of Sen. Hubert H. Humphrey's presidential aspiratoins [sic], also stressed the necessity for turning out a full vote and for harmony within the party ranks after the primary.

J. Frank Wiseman of Clarksburg, a Grafton city manager for a short period, several years ago, spoke at length in behalf of Sen. John Kennedy's presidential campaign.

Among the state's candidates introduced were Secretary of State Joseph Burdette, who is seeking re-election, and Ronald L. Hockman of Thomas, candidate for state senator from the 15th senatorial district.

Ted Rollins, Taylor Executive Committee chairman, introduced the state, county and local candidates and Mrs. Maxine Peters, president of the sponsoring organization.
