Sen. Kennedy Coming to Elkins

Reception for Senator and Wife Sunday

U.S. Senator and Mrs. John F. Kennedy will be in Elkins on Sunday afternoon - only two days before the May 10 primary in a bid for the votes of Randolph County Democrats in the hotly contested presidential race.

Sen. and Mrs. Kennedy will be at Tygart Hotel at 1:30 p.m. as guests of the Randolph County West Virginians for Kennedy Committee.

The general public has been invited to the 7:30 p.m. reception at Tygart Hotel at which time Elkins citizens will have a chance to see and meet the dynamic senator and his attractive wife, who has charmed voters wherever she has accompanied her husband in behalf of his campaign.

Senator Kennedy will be introduced by Judge Stanley Bosworth. The Senator will give a short talk regarding some of the problems which face West Virginia and the nation as a whole today. He and his wife will then personally meet and speak to every person present.

Women of Randolph Country have been planning this event for the past week under the able guidance of Robert Hedrick, who is chairman of the Randolph County West Virginians for Kennedy Committee.

This will be the last opportunity for the residents of Randolph County to meet and hear Senator Kennedy before the all important May 10 Primary. Senator Kennedy's followers feel that a victory in the West Virginia Primary will definitely assure Kennedy of the Democratic nomination at Los Angeles.
