Senator and Mrs. Hubert H. Humphrey stopped briefly in East Rainelle last Saturday and spoke to the voters.

The Rainelle High School band, under the direction of Harold Johnson, paraded and welcomed Humphrey, democratic presidential hopeful, into town. At the Army Reserve Center where he spoke and visited the townspeople, he assured them he knew and understood the problems facing West Virginia as well as other states throughout the nation. He promised to help West Virginia in their time of need if elected.

Humphrey and his party traveling over most of West Virginia has viewed the problems of the state first hand. He outlined his program briefly and asked support of the voting population.
