Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt To Visit Fayette County

The First Lady of the World, Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt, wife of the late Franklin D. Roosevelt, will be in Fayette County campaigning for the Democrat ticket next Wednesday. Campaign Chairman Sam Lair announced today.

Lair said a caravan would meet Roosevelt about 1:30 p.m. at Price Hill in Raleigh County. She is scheduled to be in Mt. Hope at 1:50 p.m.

Mrs. Roosevelt will arrive in Oak Hill at 2:10 p.m. if she is on schedule. She will be at Fayetteville at 2:40 p.m. at Gauley Bridge at 3:30 p.m., and Montgomery at 3:55 p.m.

Mrs. Roosevelt played a most prominent advisor position to her late husband. She has continued to push forward with progressive ideas in welfare, race relations and world relations. She consistently ranks as on of the leading ladies of the world in all recognized polls.

The former President's wife is no stranger to W. Va. She has visited this state on many occasions. Her son, Franklin D. Roosevelt Jr., campaigned hard for Senator John Kennedy in the W. Va. Primary this spring. Her other son, John, spoke a couple of years ago at a big Democrat rally at Fayetteville.
