Boone County West Va May the 8th 1866

Know all men by these present that we James M Kinder and Benjamin Kinder do by these Presants[sic] appoint Cumberland Adkins our agent and attorney to collect and all and moneys[sic] that is, or be coming to us from the sate[sic] of West Virginia for services Rendered in 1861 & 1862 [illegible] as privates in said Adkins Company of Home Guards, and to assign any and all papers that may be nessary[sic] for the collection there of, and and to act for us in all things nessary[sic] in the collection thereof signed sealed and delivered in Presants[sic] of men

This day came Benjamin Kinder Whose name is signed to the foregoing bearing date on this day and acknowledged the same before me in county a foresaid to be his act and deed
