I inclose[sic] the written authority of Jacob Barker James M & Benjamin Kinder who was Privates in my company of Home Guards and who was absent at Charleston when the Company was paid, they have by said writing (as you will see authorized me to collect the amt due, then which I wish you would, if all is rite, send it to the Band of the at Charleston, to my credit so I may check for them
