Doddridge County
The following is a true report of the several amounts of money levied and paid by said (Doddridge) county for bounty to soldiers vender the several calls during the late war.
1st the county paid a bounty of $ 300--- to each of 46 men under the call of February 1st 1864 making $13800.--
2nd the county paid an average [sic] Bounty of $ 317.50 to each of 66 men under the call of July 18th 1864. Making $20955.--
Also under same call (which was for 1050 men) our county paid $ 300. to each of 39 men which were applied [sic] as a credit on said call, (they being a cirplus [sic] on former call) making $11700.--
3rd the county paid an average bounty of $ 415.-- to each of 60 men under the call of December 19th 1864. Making $24900.--
Total paid for bountys $71355.--
I hereby certify that the above is correct as shown by the records of my office given under my hand this 26th day of December 1865
