Dr Sir we have Recd Guns. They ware[sic] brough here by J,F,W, Holt. The guns appears to be a large number of them Guns which have been Couderued(?) Mr Holt Brought the Guns & gave Them Out. My men have not all got Guns & some have got Guns but no Ammunition Some got 10 rounds & Some 20, and Holt says there is no more Ammunition I do not Know who he has let have Guns but it is reported to me that Holt has placed Guns in the hands of men who have been in Camp Chase in That what Shall I do go and Take The Guns or not My Company did not wish Mr Holt to have Any Thing to do with the Guns, but he got them are his guns And brought Them And There is No Gun Straps No Sholder[sic] Straps No Wipeis[sic] & Many of them No Ammunition I hope you will promise me with Ammunition Traps And Wipeis[sic] if Possible TheGuns use the Enfield Catrage[sic] I forgot tosay that Some of My Men Ever got no Belts, Please let me hear from you soon yours Resptfu-
