Dear Sir
I received the duplicate accounts due Patton and Martin and could not certify to them as being correct and first for we made the prisoners pay their own fare at Pattons and Martins therefore I only claim for these men the expence [sic] of the guard I do not design to take anything from our state in its infantey [sic] unjustly neither at any other time
