Coxs Mills W.Va. December / 63

Adjutant General

Dear Sir
I have made out any pay rolls an have forwarded them on for them to be audited. I have been governed by the printed notes as well and the instructions I received from J.M. McWhorter and have done it to the best of my skill and judgment I have not filled out the pay rolls entire I have only sett [sic] the amount or a number of days in ([unreadable text] paid for) I have not sett [sic] down anything for subsistence my men have subsisted themselves while on duty and think it nothing more then just if they should receive pay for the same

Very Respectfully
John H. Bush Capt
Vol atahed [sic] to the 163 Regt W.Va Ma
