Kanawha County "To wit"

Personally appeared before me the undersigned a justice of the peace for said County The men whose names are found on the foregoing Roll and the following oaths were Administered to them

You and Each of you do Solemnly Swear that you will support the Constitution of the United States and the laws made in pursuance thereof as the supreme law of the land so help you god

You do solemnly that you will support the constitution of the state of West Virginia and defend her against all her enemies, so help you god, this the 12th day of Jany 1864
