Dear Daughter: I was glad to hear from you and hope these lines will find you and husband and children well I am not well The weather is very cold here and there is snow and ice plentiful.

My old wounds are hurting me, and old age too.

I hope to hear from you all soon.

I have no money I can share now; if you can manage till about the 15 of May I will send you $5 or $10 if I possibly can.

Write soon and let me know how you are all geting along.

If you should be suffering let me know and I will try to help you a little.

So good bye for this time.

I have nothing of importance to write.
