Letter from then-candidate Henry D. Hatfield to State Senator Howard Sutherland assuring him he has “no factional ties,” 1912. (Ms83-2)

Henry D. Hatfield was elected as the 14th governor of West Virginia (1913-17) and was the nephew of Anderson “Devil Anse” Hatfield, noted leader of the Hatfield family known for his role in the infamous Hatfield-McCoy Feud.
