The Secesh in Jackson County:They Make a Descent on Murraysville.:On Friday night last, as we learn from the officers of the Sallie List, which arrived yesterday, a gang of rebels, calling themselves the Moccasin Rangers, made a descent on the village of Murraysville, and succeeded in stealing about twenty guns from the Home Guard. Murraysville is on the Ohio river. The rebels were bold enough to make a dash upon the place in the very faces of the Home Guard, and within gun shot of the Ohio shore. It was reported that, on Saturday, the Murraysville Home Guard and a number of citizens had an engagement with the rebels on Pond Creek, about ten miles from Murraysville, during which five or six of the Moccasin chaps were killed. On Saturday night, a prominent secessionist, who had been acting as guide to the Rangers, was hunted down and shot. These Moccasin Rangers are said to be the fellows who have been marauding throughout Wirt county.
