We learn that Rev. Henry Arbogast, residing in Pocahontas county, was arrested on the 24th of January, by twelve men, taken some 2 or 3 miles from his residence, and shot. A man by the name of Buzzard was also shot at the same time, by the same party of men. The bodies of Arbogast and Buzzard were found near the road, the day after they were shot, covered with leaves and brush. Mr. Arbogast was a local preacher of the M. E. Church and had always been regarded as a very worthy man. He had buried a child the day of his arrest, and his wife was lying very low with fever.:Rock. Register.
