AN EXPEDITION TO PENDLETON COUNTY - CAPTURE OF PRISONERS AND HORSES. - We learn from Sheriff Pheris, of Randolph county, that an expedition sent out by Gen. Milroy, from Beverly into Pendleton county, returned on Wednesday last, with about twenty secesh prisoners and fifty horses. It seems that for some time past a band of two or three hundred rebels have made their headquarters in Pendleton County, not far from Camp Baldwin, and have occupied themselves by stealing horses from Randolph, Tucker, and adjoining counties. - They would come out in squads during night, steal as many horses as they could conveniently handle, and get back into their den again. During the early part of this week, Gen. Milroy sent out an expedition of about 300 men, under Capt. Latham, of the 2d Virginia Regiment, to look after these thieving marauders. The force under Capt. L. marched across the Cheat Mountains and came in behind the secesh. The latter, seeing out men coming, and supposing they were being reinforced from Camp Baldwin, set up a terrible yelling, indicative of great joy, but their minds were soon disabused by a volley of musketry. The secesh took to their heels on the thribble quick, and the greater portion managed to escape. Three or four rebels were killed, and about twenty captured. Capt. Latham, as before stated, brought away about fifty horses.
