October 9, 1862
On the day of our last issue there was a little skirmish between some bushwhackers who had entered Ceredo, Virginia, and the Home Guards opposite. The parties were separated by the Ohio river, yet our guns being of an improved kind, carried that distance and the result was, that two rebels were killed. Since then they are a little wary, and do not appear in full view.
