New State Meeting.

At a meeting of the citizens of Pine Hill, Marshall county, Va., held February 14th, 1863, Samuel Jones was appointed President, and Wm. Hartley Secretary.

The object of the meeting was explained by James Campbell, Esq.

Joseph Turner and James Campbell, Esq., then addressed the meeting in in [sic] behalf of the new State, in an able and appropriate manner, after which the following resolutions were unanimously adopted.

Resolved, That we will support no man for office in the future who is not at this time a thorough going Union man.

Resolved, That we will use all honorable means to secure the triumph of the new State.

Resolved, That we request the convention to grant the soldiers the right to vote on the new State.

Resolved, That the proceedings of this meeting be signed by the President and Secretary and published in the Wheeling Intelligencer.
