Meeting in Triadelphia.
April 21, 1863
Editors Intelligencer:
A meeting of the citizens of Triadelphia precinct was held at the old Foster Hotel, on Saturday, the 18th of April, 1863.
On motion of L. Lunsford, Robt. Stewart was appointed President and Richard Carter Secretary.
E. M. Norton being called on, came forward and explained the object of the meeting to be for the appointment of delegates to the Convention to be held in Wheeling on Saturday, the 25th of April, 1863, for the purpose of selecting delegates to attend the Unconditional Union Convention to be held at Parkersburg, after the proclamation of the President declaring West Virginia one of the United States, for the nomination of State officers.
On motion, the following delegates were unanimously chosen:
E. M. Norton, Perry Pierson and Wm. Nicolas.
On motion, it was ordered that the proceedings of this meeting be published in the Wheeling Daily Intelligencer.
The meeting then adjourned.
