Proceedings of the Tucker County Convention.

A meeting of the citizens of Tucker county was held in St. George on Monday April 20th, (Court day), for the purpose of appointing Delegates to the Convention at Parkersburg.

On motion of Jacob Domire, Esq., John White, Esq., was called to the Chair and A. H. Bowman appointed Secretary.

On motion of A. H. Bowman (after explaining the object of the meeting) a committee of three was appointed to name two gentlemen from each Magisterial District for the selection of delegates to represent the county of Tucker in the Parkersburg Convention, whereupon Jacob W. Parsons, Jacob Domire, and Daniel K. Domire were appointed to serve on said committee.

Thereupon said committee retired and after consultation returned and reported the following gentlemen who were unanimously elected:

1st Dist. - A. H. Bowman and J. W. Miller.

2d Dist. - David Wheeler and S. E. Parsons.

3d Dist. - Harrison Moore and Isaac Gilmore.

Jacob Domire, Esq., submitted the following resolution which was adopted.

Resolved, that our delegates be instructed to support none but unconditional. Union men and ardent friends of the now State.

On motion of Abraham Bowman,

Resolved, That whereas a meeting was held in St. George, March 26th, 1863, (election day,) and that,

WHEREAS, Only a small portion of the county being present to participate in said meeting, and the proceedings of that meeting not having published. Therefore, be it

Resolved, That the acts and resolutions of said meeting be disregarded and deemed null and void.

On motion, it was ordered that the proceedings of this meeting be published in the Intelligencer at Wheeling and other new State papers.
