Wheeling Battery Boys. - About a dozen of the members of Carlin's battery, who were captured at Winchester and taken to Richmond, returned on Saturday from Annapolis, Md.
We have conversed with some of the boys all of whom agree that Richmond is a very uncomfortable place and that Camp Parole, Annapolis, is not much better. The boys saw John Knote in Richmond. He is keeping a sort of a store there and looked very sleek and comfortable. He declined to see any of the boys. They also saw Butler Greer, who left this city with the Shriver Greys. He said that his command was comming [sic] to Wheeling to burn the d___d town some time during the summer. Green backs were all the go. Everybody wanted green backs and nearly everybody had them.
It is expected that all the boys of the battery will be here in a few days.
