Procession to St. Clairsville.

By the proceedings reported in another column this morning, it will be seen that a spirited meeting of citizens was held at the Custom House last night to take steps to get up a grand procession and demonstration on this side of the river on behalf of the great Union mass meeting at St. Clairsville on the 16th.
This movement is an excellent one and one that reflects credit on our citizens. We ought to send over not less than five thousand people to St. Clairsville on the 16th. The great cause is to be benefitted in so doing. The overwhelming success of the Union ticket in Ohio in the October election is not less a matter of moment to us than the people of Ohio. Every true man is vitally interested in the crushing out of the traitor Vallandigham. In no other way can we contribute so much, and withal so cheaply and pleasantly, to crush him out. Were he to be successful, the time in all probability would come when more than five thousand of us would be necessitated to take up arms in order to keep him and his allies in rebellion, from crushing us and our Government out.
Let us then get up the biggest thing of the kind ever organized in this part of the country. We can do it if we will all take hold. The ball is fairly started last night. All it needs is a zealous hand from every Union citizen. Roll it on gloriously.
