Meeting of the Citizens of Wood County.
September 30, 1863
At a meeting of the citizens of Wood county, West Virginia, on Saturday the 26th day of September 1863, to appoint delegates to the Moundsville Convention, to be held on the 30th, of September 1863 for the purpose of nominating a candidate from the first Congressional district, to represent them in the next Convress of the United States, after calling J. E. Wharton to the chair, and Jeff. Gibbons being appointed Secretary of said meeting, the following persons were appointed as delegates to said Convention, with instructions to cast their votes for J. B. Blair; H. N. Crooks, J. C. Haaris, Wm. Cooper, A. G. Leonard, Jefferson Gibbons, J. L. Deval, Wm. E. Stephenson, J. W. Weekly, Sardis Cole, T. Devaughan, Nester Kincheloe, R. N. Smith, David Paden, T. W. Henderson, and Jonathan Steel.
It was also resolved that the proceedings be published in the Parkersburg and Wheeling papers.
