Relief Meeting.

At a meeting of citizens of the City of Wheeling, held at the Court House on last evening, for the purpose of making provision for the relief of the families of soldiers in the Union army, Dr. A.S. Todd, was called to the Chair, and E. Bocking appointed Secretary.

Whereupon the following resolutions were adopted:

Resolved, That a committee of four from the first Ward, four from the second Ward, nine from the third Ward, and three from the seventh Ward, be appointed to solicit contributions for and ascertain the wants of the soldiers families in their respective Wards.

The Committee appointed from the first Ward is to consist of Samuel Irwin, E. Day, Dr. Logan, W. W. Holliday.

Second Ward - John Bishop, Samuel Laughlin, Capt. Crawford J. D. Stiefel.

Third Ward - Jas. Bodely, Alex Bane, Dr. J. C. Hupp, M. T. Wayman, J. M. Dillon, J. K. Bodsford, W. B. Simpson, John Donlon, I. H. Williams.

Seventh Ward - John Hopkins, E. W. Paxton, J. H. Waters.

Resolved, That the above appointed committees be represented to proceed forthwith to the discharge of the duties assigned to them, and report to a meeting of the citizens to be held on Saturday evening at 7 o'clock, the 21st inst., at the Court House.

Resolved, That the 4th, 5th and 6th Wards be requested to appoint Committees to co-operate with the Committee of the other wards, and report on Saturday evening also,

Resolved, That at the said meeting, a President, Secretary and Treasurer be appointed for the city at large.

Resolved, That the proceedings of this meeting be published.

Resolved, That this meeting adjourn till Saturday evening.

The Committee for the 3d Ward will meet this (Wednesday) morning at 10 o'clock, at Dr. J. C. Hupp's office.
