Dr. Todd, the President, called the meeting to order, and A. G. Robinson, the Secretary, read the minutes of the previous meeting. Only a few persons were present, and it was not thought advisable to take any action. It was stated that a number of needy families had been discovered since the last meeting. It was also stated that a bill had passed the House of Delegates, and was now before the Senate, authorizing boards of supervisors of the various counties to make levies for the support of the families of soldiers, and that the commissioners had ordered an election of supervisors for this county, to take place on the 7th of January, and that as soon as elected the board would make a levy of five or ten thousand dollars.

The meeting adjourned to meet on Thursday evening next, at which time a general attendance if earnestly desired.
