Meeting in Gilmer County.

At a meeting of the citizens of Gilmer county, held at Glenville, on the 25th of July 1864, after due notice having been given, for the purpose of appointing delegates to represent said county in a convention to be held at Grafton, on the 3d day of August 1864, James Cather, Esq., was called to the Chair, and D. F. Stembrick was appointed Secretary.

The object of the meeting being explained by J. F. W. Holt, Esq., on motion of Wm. J. Wiant, it was

Resolved, That this meeting proceed to the appointment of delegates.

Whereupon the following persons were appointed from the different townships: Simon Norman, N. C. Wiant, J. F. W. Holt, John Cather, W. W. Warden, A. Heckart, J.B. Varner, Thos. Floyd, M. Holt.

On motion of J. F. W. Holt, Esq., Wm. T. Wiant and James Cather were added to the list.

On motion of W. Wiant, it was

Resolved, That we citizens of said county approve the administration of our present Governor.

On motion of J. F. W. Holt, that the proceedings of this meeting be published in the Wheeling Intelligencer.

On motion the meeting adjourned.
