THE ENROLLMENT LISTS.:Our people have learned a lesson by their recent experience in raising recruits to fill our quota. Those who took copies of the enrollment lists in order to facilitate their operations in the collection of money to pay private bounties found the names of men who had been dead for years and the names of cripples without number and old men by scores. It was too late however, when the discovery was made to have the lists corrected for our quota had been assigned upon the basis of the returns of the enrolling officers. Every opportunity had been given to the people to call at the Provost Marshal's office and have the lists corrected, but few persons came forward, and the consequence was that we had to furnish a great many more soldiers than we were entitled to furnish. As we said our people have learned a lesson. If we are ever threatened with another draft, committees will be appointed for every district to see that the lists are corrected before our quotas are assigned.
