Three events within the next eight days will provide a rousing climax for the primary election campaign in Marion County and this area.

- U. S. Sen. John F Kennedy will bring his presidential campaign to Fairmont tomorrow when he will speak at noon in front of the Virginia Theater.

- Top state and county candidates in the Republican primary will attend a dinner meeting of the Marion County '54 Club at 6:30 p.m. next Saturday at the Eagles Club.

- On the following Monday, April 25, U. S. Sen. Hubert H. Humphrey, the Kennedy opponent in the state primary, will speak at a $10-a-plate dinner at the Fairmont Hotel.

Sam Huff, Farmington man who has become one of the great professional football players as a member of the New York Giants, will introduce Senator Kennedy, it was made known last night.

The Senator will speak from a station wagon in front of the theater and will then mingle with the big crowd which is anticipated during the noon hour. The Adams Street block between Jefferson and Madison streets will be closed to traffic during the noon period.

Thereafter, Senator Kennedy will have lunch at the Palace Restaurant, will be taken on a tour of the Owens-Illinois plant, and will then proceed to Monongalia County.

Senator Kennedy was originally scheduled to speak on the courthouse plaza, but he decided against this since it would involve crossing the picket line which has been at the courthouse for several days.

Kennedy will have a busy day tomorrow. He will be interviewed over Clarksburg Station WBOY-TV, Channel 12, at 8:30 a.m. and will then proceed to the Stonewall Jackson Hotel for a conference with labor leaders. He will attend an open house in the ballroom of the hotel and at 10:15 a.m. will be taken on a tour of the plant of Continental Glass Co. He will start for Marion County at 11 a.m. in a motor convoy.

The second major Marion County political event of the eight-day period will be the Republican rally next Saturday night at which former U.S. Sen. Chapman Revercomb, candidate for Governor, and other state and county candidates will speak.

Final arrangements have not been completed, but Attorney John F. McIntire said yesterday that Attorney A. Blake Billingslea, chairman of the Marion County Republican Executive Committee, will introduce the county candidates. Attorney William P. Lehman will give the invocation. Piano music will be played by Mrs. Porter Stout during the dinner.

The committee which will greet the out-of-county candidates will consist of Adna Thomas, chairman, Howard Boggess, Richard Davis, Davis Henry, William Nunnelly and Robert Watson.

Preceding the Humphrey talk in Fairmont at the Fairmont Hotel dinner April 25, Mrs. Humphrey will arrive in Fairmont at noon Wednesday in a trailer in which she will hold a series of "coffees" for interested persons.

Senator Humphrey is scheduled to arrive in Fairmont at about 5 p.m. April 25. The dinner will follow at 6:30 p.m. at the Fairmont Hotel. The Senator will spend the night in Fairmont and then proceed to Grafton and other cities.

On the state level, the five candidates for Governor will be interviewed at the annual spring meeting of the West Virginia Broadcasters Association which will be held next Friday and Saturday at Morgantown.

The candidates - Democrats W. W. Barron, Orel J. Skeen and Hulett C. Smith and Republicans Harold E. Neely and Revercomb - will make brief addresses Friday and then submit to questions.

The candidates will appear on a similar program at a meeting of Kaiser aluminum plant employes near Ravenswood Wednesday.

Revercomb will be in Huntington Monday, in Princeton on Tuesday, at Buckhannon on Thursday, and in Fairmont on Saturday.

In a talk at Weston last night, Neely accused the Democratic-controlled Legislature of slowing down the State Road Commission's highway program.

This week, Neely has visits slated to Parkersburg, St. Marys, Sistersville, New Martinsville, Morgantown, Ravenswood and the Clarksburg area.
