Senator John F. Kennedy of Massachusetts will arrive in Logan County around 5 p.m. today on his campaign tour of southern West Virginia. The Democrat presidential hopeful left Huntington by chartered bus this morning and was scheduled to make several stops en route to Williamson and Logan.

The senator's itinerary in the county calls for a brief stop at Omar around 5 p.m. and an informal appearance at the courthouse at 6:30 p.m. which will precede his scheduled talk at 7:30 p.m.

Alex DeFobio, chairman of arrangements for Kennedy's visit, said the senator and his wife will meet and talk with the public at the courthouse. DeFobio also said that refreshments will be served free to the public.

A large crowd is expected to turn out and hear Kennedy's address. He will speak in the circuit court room and his remarks will be aired over a public address system so that those on the outside may hear.

Sen. Kennedy hurried back from the West Coast today to resume campaigning in West Virginia. Although his plane was late arriving in Huntington from Oregon, where he also entered in the Democratic presidential primary there, Kennedy managed to breakfast with Democratic leaders, tour a dress factory and hastily inspect the Veterans Administration hospital before leaving on his tour of other southern counties.

At the Huntington Manufacturing Co., where some700 women are employed making dresses, he worked his way through sewing machines and ironing boards to shake hands and talk briefly.

His rival in the May 10 West Virginia primary, Sen. Hubert H. Humphrey's campaign bus left Charleston at 6 a.m. on a full day's tour of central and north-central West Virginia.
