Wheeling voters will have an excellent chance Thursday to hear Kennedy and Humphrey discuss in Wheeling major problems facing the nation. However, there are some catches to the Humphrey-Kennedy talk in Wheeling. Sen. Hubert H. Humphrey of Minnesota will be here at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the Wheeling postoffice. The Kennedy in town at the same time is Robert, not John F., the battling senator from Massachusetts.

Humphrey is expected to make a keynote address from in front of the post office beginning at 12:30 p.m. to climax his first visit to the Northern Panhandle tomorrow.

Robert Kennedy, John's brother, is the guest speaker at the Ohio valley Ad club meeting at the same time Thursday at the McLure hotel - just across the street from the postoffice.

The senator from Minnesota will make a whirlwind tour of the Northern Panhandle Thursday. He is expected to greet early morning risers in Weirton at the community center at 8 a.m.

A quick trip to Bethany College is next on Humphrey's agenda where he is to be the main speaker at a political science forum.

Then Humphrey comes into Wheeling for his 12:30 p.m. talk at the Twelfth St. side of the post office. The Wheeling police are reported going to block off Twelfth St. between market and Chapline Sts. for people to listen to Humphrey.

Robert Kennedy is expected to arrive at the Wheeling-Ohio County airport at about 11:45 a.m. for his appearance at the Ad Club dinner at 12:30 p.m. He is scheduled to discuss his racketbusting investigation of the Senate Rackets committee.

Senator Kennedy, who with Humphrey is bidding for the Democratic nomination as the presidential candidate has been in the Northern Panhandle twice, the first time on April 19 and the last Sunday.

Humphrey will also make a trip to Wheeling College for a visit with the students and faculty at 2 p.m. Thursday. After a visit to downtown Wheeling again, he will leave for Morgantown.

Political candidates of both parties move into high gear this week with fund-raising dinners and rallies aimed at getting the voters into the mood to vote next Tuesday.

The Ohio County Democrats are holding a fund-raising dinner at the Colonnade Room of the McLure Hotel at 7 p.m. Wednesday with Sen. Ernest Gruening of Alaska as the main speaker.

W.W. Barron, former attorney general for West Virginia, and a candidate for governor, is one of the political hopefuls expected to attend the dinner.
