U.S. Senator John F. Kennedy. Democratic candidate for presid[e]ntial nomination in Tuesday's primary election in West Virginia, will be in Parkersburg this afternoon, with a street parade and rally to be among highlights of his appearance here, it was announced last night.

He will also greet workers at the American Viscose Corp. as well as students at Parkersburg High School.

John Treanor of the Kennedy campaign staff, made the announcement that Senator Kennedy would fly here from Huntington, arrivi[n]g at 1 p.m. at Wood County Airport, after spending the morning campaigning in the Cabell county city.

Sen. Kennedy will have lunch at 1:30 p.m. at the Blen[n]erhassett hotel, and at 2:15 p.m. will leave the hotel for the American Viscose Corp. plant, arriving at 2:30 p.m. to greet workers at the plant gate. He is scheduled to arrive at Parkersburg High School at 3:25 p.m., where he will greet students, and at 4:10 p.m. a parade will be staged, led by the Parkersburg High School Big Red Band.

The parade will form at the Spring St. entrance to the high school, where a police escort will lead the band and the senator's party down 19th St. to Market, down Market to 6th and up 6th to the Park-A-Loft at 6th and Avery Sts. William B. Richardson, co-chairman of the Kennedy for President Committee in Wood county, said the band will present a 20 to 30-minute concert. Sen. Kennedy will speak at 5:10 p.m., and will personally greet those attending the rally following his brief talk. He will leave by air for Charleston at 5:45 p.m.

Arrangements for Sen. Kennedy's appearance here were made in Richardson's office yesterday afternoon. Attending in addition to Richardson, who is co-chairman of the committee with Margaret Biddle, were B. P. McDonough, Kennedy's state campaign director, and Treanor.

Senator Kennedy, in a[n] appearance Sunday, May 1 at an ox roast at Parkersburg's City Park, drew one of the largest, if not the largest crowds of his campaign up to that time. A throat infection hampered his speaking at that time, but Richardson said yesterday that he has since recovered his voice.

The senator is being accompanied by a large press corps and staff, and they will take part in the parade, along with Kennedy.
