Mrs. Roosevelt To Visit Beckley Next Wednesday
Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt, widow of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, is going to make a tour of Southern West Virginia cities next week before her big speech at Charleston's Municipal Auditorium.
Her full schedule was announced Thursday by state Democratic headquarters.
She is to arrive at Mercer County Airport next Wednesday at 10 a.m. From Bluefield she will visit Princeton, Hinton, Beckley, Mount Hope, Oak Hill, Fayetteville, Gauley Bride and Montgomery before going to Charleston. The Democratic rally there will start at 8 p.m.
Mrs. Roosevelt is making the one-day tour on behalf of the Democratic party's candidates.
One the same day, Sen. Lyndon B. Johnson, the Democratic vice presidential candidate, will appear in Huntington.
