VIOLETTE MACHIR COLLECTION
Ms2003-105

The Machir Collection consists primarily of genealogical research on families from Mason County, West Virginia. Correspondence with persons requesting research, as well as responses and materials compiled in response to these requests make up the bulk of the collection. Also of interest are newspaper articles and research papers on men who fought at the 1774 Battle of Point Pleasant and other historical papers relating to the area. Of particular interest is a series of articles relating to the Silver Bridge Collapse.
