Historical Note: The photographs and documents of this collection were inherited by the donor, Monica Rinehart Winter, through her grandmother, Hettie McKinney Rinehart. Hettie acquired the photographs from her parents, William Blackburn McKinney and Nancy Elizabeth "Bets" McKinney. William Blackburn McKinney (1872-1966) and Nancy Elizabeth "Bets" McKinney (1876-1967) married in 1890 and settled in Basin, Wyoming County, West Virginia. They had twelve children: Edward McKinney (1891-1976), Charles McKinney (1894-1987), Ada McKinney-Wood (1896-1978), Bertha McKinney (1898-1898), Wiley McKinney (1899-1970), Archie McKinney (1902-1954), Ralph McKinney (1904-1993), Frederic "Fred" McKinney (1906-1984), Hettie McKinney-Rinehart (1910-1994), Milburn McKinney (1913-1978), Velmer McKinney (1915-1995), Dewey L. McKinney (1919-2006.)
