I have now my pay rolls made out. Would it be too much or unkind in me to ask the Governor through you to send me transportation so that I can come to your city and attend to the business belonging to my company.
I should say further that some of those men for whom I drew money a few days since are now in the U.S. service and may be sometime before I shall be able to see them. I have written to them however to come at once and as soon as they do so the rolls shall be forthcoming.
