To the Quartermaster General of the State of West Va, In compliance with the statute I have the honor to report that during the month of April 1865 my company of state guards captured from the possessin[sic] of rebel and rebel sympathisers[sic] all supposed at the time of capture to belong to rebel, in arms except the fifteen horses Five of them horses have bien[sic] returned to their priproper owners, under the circumstances stated in my report to the Governor,
They also captured Five rebel muskets, but having no convenient way of bringing them to head quarters, and the distance being so great, they destroyed them. April 30, 1865
