I Philip Cox adjutant of the 165 Regiment of Virginia militia do herby certify , that on the 19th day of march, at the town of Glinville, I Superintended the Election of a captain and two Lieutenant of one of the companies of Said Regiment. When the votes of all the members of the company present, being given viva voce, a majority was found to be in favor of Joshua P. Owen for captain, and a majority in favor of William Powell for first Lieutenant. And a majority was found to be in favor of William Campbell for Second Lieutenant of Said Company: to fill the vacancy in the office of Captain first and Second Lieutenant of occasioned by the failure if the former officers if Said comp -any to take the oaths prescribed by Law I Therefore certify that the Said Joshua P Owen was duly elected captain and William Powell first Lieutenant and William Campbell Second Lieutenant of Said Company, and that a majority if Said Company was present and voted at Said Election.
