To the adjutant general of the state of west va in obedans[sic] to the older men recruted[sic] to this day 7 seven. Prospects for recruting[sic] in the Kanawh[sic] is very dull thear [sic] ain't[sic] excitement a nuff [sic] to make men volunteer[sic] if the militia[sic] was calld[sic] out for a few day they wold[sic] volunteer[sic]
