Biographical Note: Eugene Hezekiah Washington attended Carter G. Woodson Junior High School and Garnet High School, graduating from the latter in 1950. After serving in the Korean War, he attended West Virginia State College and was an educator for 28 years at Aracoma Junior and Senior High School in Logan and Logan Junior High School. He was also active in researching and writing about African Americans in West Virginia.
