Abstract: The collection consists of eighteen letters written by Christopher Lively, who served in the 22nd Virginia Infantry, a Confederate unit, during the Civil War. The letters to his wife Matilda Margaret (Mag) Lively in Centerville (present-day Greenville) in Monroe County were written from the Shenandoah Valley from October 1864 through January 1865.
