Smoke Hole Caverns Will Be Opened Decoration Day

The Smoke Hole Caverns, eight miles south of Petersburg on Routes 4 and 28 will be formally opened on Decoration Day, May 30. With beautiful rock formations, enhanced by artistic lighting, the visitors will in the words of the advance publicity, "see Gods and Goddesses at their shr[i]nes: behold prehistoric forms" Easy trails will cover this underground wonderland and in less than an hour strange and wonderful sights will charm the eye and delight the imagination. Best of all the tarrif [sic] is reasonable.
