A Distinguished Prisoner.:General C. B. Conrad, of Gilmer County, was brought into the city yesterday, and confined in the Atheneum. Conrad was a member of the Richmond Convention, which passed the ordinance of secession, and stood side by side with the the [sic] best of the Union men of North-western Virginia, refusing at all times to vote for the ordinance. He returned home, however, and Letcher made him a Brigadier-General.:That seems to have proved a fatal bait, and ever since he has been recognized as a secessionist. A week or so ago he came to the Federal officers at Sutton, in Braxton County, and gave himself up, and Major Darr had him brought down here, that his case might be investigated.
