Editors Intelligencer:
I will drop you a line to let you know where we are. On the night of the 13th we received orders to march. At daylight we had tents struck, and by 12 or 1 o'clock we were on the cars gliding away for a new home. About 11 o'clock, 24 hours after we received the first order, we landed at this place, and we now find ourselves encamped on the bank of a branch of the Potomac. I think that our regiment will improve in health here as this is quite a pleasant camping ground, and the water is very good. What disposition will be made of us, is more than a humble private can comprehend; but it seems to me that we will not lie still long, but push forward to meet the enemy. Our second surgeon is sick, not able for duty.
This increases the labors of Surgeon Moss, who is very attentive to his business.
Our little Adjutant, Gillespie is universally beloved by all the men of the regiment.
