John Morgan Crossing the River below Parkersburg.:Gov. Boreman yesterday received a dispatch from Parkersburg, announcing that John Morgan was attempting to cross the Ohio into Virginia, at Bellville, 18 miles below Parkersburgh. When the scout who gave this information left Bellville, a gun boat was in sight, which, in all probability, ere this, engaged Morgan's forces. When the scout left only eight or ten of the rebels had crossed.:Twelve hundred soldiers had been sent from Parkersburgh to Bellville.
A later dispatch to Gov. Boreman, which appears elsewhere, announces that three hundred of Morgan's men were captured yesterday at Buffington, several miles below Bellville.
