To-day is the day appointed for the drafted men of Gilmer county to report here for duty. We had a conversation yesterday with a man from that county, from whom we learn that the draft has performed some queer freaks there. In the vicinity of Troy, where the people are generally loyal, there are only eight or ten Union men left in the neighborhood, while in the neighborhood of Glenville scarcely a man was drafted. The draft, however, caught about seventy rebels in the county, all of whom are expected to report here today. So many rebel soldiers are returning from the South, and they give such a bad account of things that Dixie has no charms for the drafted men of Gilmer.
