The West Virginia Historical Society Magazine welcomes manuscript submissions for publication consideration that deal with state or local history-related topics. Submissions, which should be of a length suitable for publication in the magazine and include citations of referenced materials, should be sent to the editor, West Virginia Historical Society, P.O. Box 5220, Charleston, WV 25361.

These issues of the West Virginia Historical Society Magazine are made available online courtesy of West Virginia Archives and History but are the property of the West Virginia Historical Society, which is not officially connected to Archives and History, the Department of Arts, Culture and History or the State of West Virginia. The society retains all rights to the publication; copyright in individual articles resides with the author.

The society has neither a research facility nor staff who can perform research. Such requests should be directed to West Virginia Archives and History.
