Remember...Clyde Lex Lester

Clyde Lex Lester was born on July 7, 1891, in Wayne County, West Virginia, the eldest of five children born to Parris and Zenobia Bloss Lester.
| Clyde attended Marshall University where, as noted in the 1918 yearbook, he held a high place in student activities. Clyde was senior class president and president of the Young Men's Christian Association during the spring semester. He also was a member of the Classical Association of Greek and Latin Students and the Erosophian Literary Society, the purpose of which was the development of students' oratory skills. In France, Clyde served with Headquarters Company, 317th Infantry, 80th Division. Private Lester was killed in action on October 4, 1918, and his body returned to the United States where interment was made in Arlington National Cemetery.
