Sir
I reget the [?] of communicating to you the fact that a few days past Samuel E Young 2nd Leutenant[sic] in my Company refused to do further duty and amongst the menopenly encouraged mutiny and insubordination, advisineing[sic] them to Leave [?] he succeeded however, in [?] but one man to go with him. The Leut[sic] refused to resign his Commision[sic] which was issued by Gov Pierpoint the soldier who left with him I [?] not like to punish from the for the reason that he had always been a faithful soldier and aid what he aid[sic] under the influence of the Liutenant[sic], not [?] well satisfied of how for the military laws was applicable to our Companys[sic]. I thought to take no steps in the matter until I had informed you of the [?] and await your [?].
